Citizens of the Bahamas can apply for a number of academic scholarships for post-secondary study, both at home and abroad. Some of these scholarships are funded by international organisations or foreign governments, while others are offered directly by The Commonwealth of The Bahamas. All scholarships are coordinated through the Scholarships and Education Loans Division of the Ministry of Education.
Eligibility
All students, parents, guardians or family members connected to the success of the student.
- Prospective applicants can find a comprehensive list of scholarships currently being offered by following the link below to the Ministry of Education website.
- All applicants must fill out an application form, which can be obtained from the Scholarships and Education Loans Division at the addresses below or on the Ministry of Education website.
- If you wish to apply for a scholarship offered by an international organization or foreign government, you must also fill out an application form for that particular scholarship.

Each Scholarship will have a specific application form.
Supporting Documents
Each scholarship may list a number of supporting documents which must be included with the application.
Turn-around time
Responses are usually received before the desired school year begins though this may vary from one scholarship to another.
Application deadlines vary depending upon the scholarship programme.
